Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) is a Boston-based nonprofit developer, owner and operator of over 12,000 affordable homes in eleven states and the District of Columbia including nearly 2400 apartment homes in Illinois. POAH’s primary mission is to preserve, create and sustain affordable, healthy homes that support economic security, racial equity and access to opportunity for all. POAH Communities is our property management company, which oversees more than 100 POAH properties

Nia partners with community developers, leaders, groups, and members to create purpose-driven design solutions. Our team has created various award-winning multi-family, education, healthcare, community, and mixed-use projects over the past 20 years. Nia is a black-owned and registered MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) architecture firm composed of a diverse range of architects and designers. Skender Construction
One of the leading general contracting firms in Chicago, Skender’s dedication to collaboration, innovation and social responsibility has guided them for over 60 years. Their extensive involvement in all stages of the planning and construction process and their range of expertise working across different construction types have garnered them regional and national recognition. Skender has previously worked as the GC for POAH Chicago’s Woodlawn Station and Salud Center projects and has a wide range of project experience under their belt.

Ashlaur Construction
Ashlaur Construction is a MBE/DBE that has over 30 years of experience serving as both a subcontractor and general contractor for projects in the Chicagoland area. Throughout this time, they have cemented a reputation of excellence and precision. Ashlaur will be serving as half of the general contractor joint venture partnership with their frequent collaborator, Skender Construction.
